Portraits

During lockdown, I found myself longing for connection and that’s what drew me to face and portrait painting. At a time when we were all apart, I became deeply fascinated by the uniqueness of every individual I painted. I’m especially captivated by the eyes, they feel like windows into someone’s inner world, holding emotion, strength, vulnerability and story all at once. I also spend part of each year in Africa and that experience profoundly shapes my work. The people, the light, the colours and just the spirit I encounter there continually inspire and enrich my artistic expression.
